Passage, 2017

Intaglio and silkscreen on Japanese paper, beeswax, light, dirt, rocks

Passage is a large installation made of sheets of beeswaxed Japanese paper that form an open cylindrical shape where the viewer is invited to enter and take a rock from the pile that sits in the middle. The light bulb hung in the center casts their shadows onto the translucent prints of passing pack mules, making them a part of the ongoing movement of travelers and the weight that they carry.
